Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. This is due to the fact that the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for years. Guests from all of the neighboring states pile in cars and head over to Oklahoma to wager on Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a benchmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. From that instance, twenty three of the 39 Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have established gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the wagering laws, and today operate 10 gambling halls of their own. Bingo was the game on which these casinos were founded. Electronic games like slots weren’t approved, on the grounds that they’re thought to contribute to gambling problems at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma rules has altered to permit massive American Indian wagering casinos. You will now find Native gambling halls with slots, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are still not allowed in the Amerindian gambling dens yet, but that is simply a waiting game. No one can determine what having other casino games in the bingo houses will do for the draw of bingo.
