Oklahoma Bingo

Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. This is because the Native bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for ages. Patrons from all of the surrounding states pile in trucks and travel into Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo on the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a benchmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. From that instance, 23 of the thirty nine Native tribes located in Oklahoma have introduced gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma American Indian band to take advantage of the gambling rules, and today control 10 gambling dens of their very own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling dens were built on. Electronic games like slot machine games were not allowed, due to the fact that they’re believed to contribute to gambling dependency at a higher rate than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma governing edicts has altered to allow for massive Native gambling gambling halls. You’ll now find Indian gambling halls with slot machine games, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are not yet authorized in the Indian casinos yet, although that is only a waiting game. Nobody can say with what having other casino games in the bingo parlors will do for the appeal of bingo.
